Two newbuilt ASD RAstar 3200W Class Escort Tugs' delivery protocols has been signed


Two newbuilt ASD RAstar 3200W Class Escort Tugs' delivery protocols has been signed by SAAM TOWAGE EL SALVADOR S.A's Technical Director Mr. Pablo E. Caceres and UZMAR's Chairman of Board Mr. A. Noyan Altuğ at UZMAR Istanbul Office. The delivery ceremony will take place on the second week of March 2021 at UZMAR Shipyard. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the ceremony will be held with limited number of participants and will be broadcasted live on UZMAR's YouTube Channel.

The contract for the RAstar 3200W design tugboats was signed on 31 January 2020 and the vessels were launched on November & December 2020.

The new UZMAR-built Robert Allan-designed RAstar 3200W azimuth tugs are 32 meters in length, specially designed to meet the requirements of offshore operations with a bollard pull of +80 tonnes and speed of + 13.5 knots. The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis of RAstar 3200W design tugs has been completed by Robert Allan Ltd. to supply immense steering and braking forces at escort operations. The vessels will provide services by the second quarter of 2021 for the LNG project that Energía del Pacífico (EDP) is developing in El Salvador.
